About

Find a path forward

I was raised in Salem, Oregon and have lived in the Willamette Valley for most of my life. My older brother has a developmental disability, so from a very young age, I have been aware of the reality of how people can react when they see differences in others and the lack of equity and fairness in some of these interactions. At the same time, I have seen, again and again, how an act of kindness can make all the difference in a difficult situation, and that lesson continues to encourage me. He has taught me that learning is continuous, even if it looks different or is slower than expected. I feel grateful for and inspired by my brother because what appears at first to be his weakness, is really his "super power!" My relationship with him has shaped me as a person and continues to shape who I am as a therapist. My approach to therapy is uniquely tailored to each person and situation. I believe that each person is doing the very best that they can, is innately resilient and always has the capacity to grow and learn. Even when you cannot see these things in yourself, it is my job is to create a space where you feel safe to explore difficult thoughts and feelings. My intention is to lead you through the healing process with education, warmth, kindness, authenticity, vulnerability, empathy and humor. Throughout this sacred journey, I encourage you to give me feedback to ensure that your needs and goals are being met. When our work together is completed, my hope is that you feel: - More empowered, grounded and skillful in dealing with stressful events. - More physically and emotionally present in your body. - A greater sense of trust and confidence in yourself and your abilities. - A lot less guilt, shame, defensiveness and insecurity. - A deepened sense of closeness and connection with the people who are important to you.
